Matthew Chiesi grew up on a small farm north of Kansas City. He began attending the UMKC Conservatory of Music in 1998, but later changed his major to English Literature. He also began working at UMKC’s University Center as a student facility manager in 2000. Because of health problems, he was very bitter and lost. In the year 2001, Dr. Martin Mun invited him to study the Bible, telling him of Levi the tax collector who followed Jesus and became St. Matthew and wrote the first gospel of Jesus. Matthew left his life of bitterness and began to follow Jesus. Later he began teaching the Bible. After completing his BA in English Literature, he was promoted to full-time staff status at the University Center. Currently seeking teacher certification from the School of Education, Matthew is also praying to grow as a father-like shepherd and teach the Bible faithfully. In December of 2004, God established a family with his wonderful coworker and wife, Missionary Mary Chiesi. They are praying for their “house church” to serve God’s mission, based on Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
