Sweety Rhee was invited to 1:1 Bible study during her freshman year in the College of Nursing at Seoul National University in Korea. Through Genesis Bible study she accepted God as the Creator and the Sovereign Ruler of all things. After much struggle she decided to surrender herself to God and give up worldly desires. Then she realized that worldly fun was no fun at all, but rather empty way of life. In God she experienced grace, peace and joy which she didn’t know before. Through Jesus’ death she tasted freedom from sinful desires and through Jesus resurrection she tasted life and power. She began to invite her classmates to 1:1 Bible study. Eventually, five of her classmates became active members of UBF. After graduation, they all came to Chicago as missionaries. Sweety Rhee and her husband, Noah Rhee, went to Michigan State University and served campus mission while her husband was pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics. They came to Kansas City because her husband got a position as a professor at UMKC. They didn’t have a baby for a long time. Eventually Noah Jr. was born after 19 years of marriage. Simple yet faithful and prayerful 1:1 Bible study draws us to God’s presence and his rich reward. Please join in 1:1 Bible study!
